The rebuild kit came with 2 O rings for each cylinder sleeve but I can only find where one goes at the bottom of the sleeve. Is there supposed to be 2 O rings on each sleeve? Its on a IH 484 with a 3cyl diesel.

One ring has pink dots and one has white but they look the exact same.

One is thicker than the other. If you have the old ones you can sometimes figure out the one you need. If not you will have to contact a dealer with the serial number on your block to see which o-ring it takes.

MN-scott is correct. There are serial number brakes and you will have better luck with going to the service dept at the IH dealer and it should have it posted in the service manual. They may appear the same but they are not the same and cannot be interchanged.

You will find that those motors only use one O ring on the the sleeve. The O rings are different and they will have colored dots on the O ring or maybe one O ring might have dots and the other may have nothing on it. You will need to find out which one to use and be sure you have it right because that one O ring prevents getting antifreeze in the oil. It is a stupid design in my opinion I ran into the same problem on my 885 Case IH with the english motor. I hope your block is good because you can't find replacements according to a neighbor mechanic. If you are not getting water in the oil now you should be OK
