Finally got all of my parts together and installed the Koyker 220 on the Farmall 504. They make a good pair.

Loader looks good... it looks as though the front end needs some rearward bracing before you start heavy lifting, though.

Ran a 504 for a couple years for a friend, wonderful tractor for light jobs like mowing, raking, tilling, etc. Easy on fuel and reasonably comfortable to ride on for days on end.

I like your pic about size matters... but if size truly matters, you need one of these:

The next move after securing all of the small hydraulic leaks is to rebuild the axle mount and to brace the wishbone further back. The front axle is a mess, but for the price of $0.00 for the tractor, I can work with it!

Moving the wheels out on the axles will only add a marginal amount of stability, but it will make plowing snow and using the loader along side of things more difficult with the wheels set wider than the bucket.

Loading the tires will give you the most bang for your buck with regards to stability.

We do not get much snow in Louisiana (about 1" in 10 years!) and I bale hay with this rig and the axles are set at about 6' 6" centerline.

The tires are loaded to the gills and I am searching for rear wheel weights localy.

Thanks guys, I have recieved lots of good info here.

Charles

That's a very nice loader! Good work on the plumbing, too.

One thing you might think about is moving the wheels out on the axles to give you a wider stance for when you have the loader way up high. Unless there is a need to have them moved all of the way in. Just be careful with the loader lifted high. There is a lot of weight up there and a lot of leverage for tipping it over. Remember. Safety! Safefy! Safety!

Looks like it should do the job.
