You need to do as Scotty suggested on having the
crankshaft measured for wear. Clevite should have Std size and any undersize from .002" (.050mm) to .030" (.762mm). I had my auto machine shop supply my bearings on a Farmall A. All were .002" (.050mm) (undersize. The shaft didn't look too great, but only needed to be polished. Hal

Hi, Gerry. Not sure which manfr's numbers those are. Someone will recognize them.

The bearings I bought for my SuperC (same crank) were Clevite, and should still be available. In my case, I had them supplied by the shop that ground the crank down down to 10 under, (put the burden on them!) just to make sure they were right.

Just found my receipt in reply to ScottyHOMEy, 03-03-2008 13:42:45
It's a little scrawly, but it looks like I paid for four rod bearings which were Clevites, #CB386-P -10. Not sure how that number would vary for standards, but suspect the -10 at the end would go away, and either left blank maybe replaced with an S or STD.

The mystery on my slip is it also lists only one main bearing, #MS459-P-20. I don't remember them having to turn one down that much (and why only one!?!?!?), but I guess so...

I do remember at the shop that they looked up the crank by the IH part # on it (not by the tractor model), and were able to measure for wear from the specs they found with that number, and order the bearings, as well.
