I DID RECEIVE THE CORRECT KIT FOR TYPE OF CARB BUT AM CONFUSED ON HOW TO SEAL OR SEAT MAIN JET ADJUSTING SCREW AS WHEN CLEANING A "PACKING" WAS REMOVED AND DESTROYED. THIS PACKING DOES NOT COME IN THE KIT AND NEED INFO ON WHAT TO REPLACE IT WITH.

Not all carb kits have all the needed parts, you may have gotten one that does not have all the parts.

The packing can be purchased at the Case IH dealer, but you could try your local Tractor Supply or NAPA.

Simple and effective packing (if the needle is smooth) is Teflon tape twisted into a rope and wound around the shaft. Approximately the same amount of material is needed to make sure the packing is not too small allowing the packing nut to screw in all the way to thread bind. If too much is put in, the packing nut will not find threads to start on the needle base. Do not over tighten when assembling, the Teflon can be squeezed out the packing nut gap. This method takes less tension than the stock packing rope. Thin packing rope/twine is available at good plumbing supply houses as well. JimN
