The 915 had several different engines used. The early made ones (called the "2 stories") had either a 345 V-8 gas or a DT407 6-cylinder turbo diesel.

The later made ones (lo-profile) have a 345 V-8 gas or a DT414 turbo diesel

The 345V8 and the 392V8 were offered in some 815 and all 915 combines. The 345V8 I put in my neighbors 560 came from an 815. When looking in salvage yards for another 345, I was told that most of the combines with the V8's had burn't up.

Neighbor has a 915 with a 414 cubic inch turbo diesel - same engine as 1066 and 1086.

The 392 was a V-8 gas or LPG. The 345 V-8 was also available in gas or LPG. In the Mississippi Delta lots of them were sold on LPG and like someone else stated, fires were common on the V-8's gas or LPG on the 815's and 915's.
