Well the problems seems to self corrected itself. I took off work a little early to fix it, since this type of thing bugs me until it's fixed. It was raining slightly so I decided to put the tractor in the barn, it started right up and ran fine, #3 plug was firing.

I wish I had found the problem since it will be in the back of my mind that the problem could pop up when I'm haying.

Thanks for all the advise.

Bob

That's the fun of our addiction. Little surprises and mysteries. Good for you.

Glad to hear that you got her fixed. Its always frustrating when you can't figure something out, but it's always a great feeling of accomplishment when you finally get it right. Good for you.

I'm going to stop and get a new set of plugs for it just to eliminate that part of it.

The more easy way to check for a firing problem on a plug is to remove plug wire and attach another plug to wire. Ground plug to tractor and see if that plug is firing outside the cyl. If it is getting fire and you see a good blue/yellow streak popping inside the plug tip, then you will have fire delivery when you reattach to that plug screwed into the #3 head.

I firmly believe it was the plug itself. I was just re reading all the posts on it and am pretty convinced it is a shorted plug (there have been several additions to that post). Take a plug with you (and wrench) so that if it does it again it can be substituted. JimN
