I'm looking for tips on how to get 30 hp out of my 3588 without taking the pump to a diesel shop.

thanks

If that tractor has the 414 which I believe it does open up the top pump cover that is held on by those 4 bolts(7/16ths heads). The cover has all the writing on it.

You will see a screw with a jam nut on it.

Look where the screwdriver slot is in the end of that screw and remember it.

There are tabs to lock the jam nut in place, so straighten out those tabs.

Loosen that nut with a 7/16 wrench while holding the slot with a screw driver.

Turn the screw out to increase HP. Each round can be 25 HP, each pump will vary a little.

Remember to lock the tabs after relocking the jam nut.

If you want 30 Hp, I would go a little over one round and see what you think.

If you have no black smoke now you are at around 140 HP. If it smokes when you crack the trottle open you are at 160 to 170.

If it smokes all the time under a pull. You are over 175.
