Super C hydraulic block overhaul

I have several questions about rebuilding the hydraulic block on my Super C.

How do you get the check valves, bushings, and actuators out of the block ?

What does a 'drag link screwdriver' look like ?

In the Touch Control Serviceman's Handbook (GSS-1024) what are the circlip pliers used for ? It does not look like there are any C-clips.

There are several socket headed cap screws under the bottom cover. Should I take them out or leave them alone ? I don't see them listed on the exploded diagrams.

Many thanks

Greg

Did you have any trouble getting the Hydraulic Cylinder Head cover off yours? The one a friend and I are working on is being rather stubborn and uncooperative.

No, I whacked it all over with a rubber hammer and tapped the edge of a thin putty knife about 1/8" into the gasket. After three or four places, it popped loose.

I'm in the process of rebuilding the motor. Since it was all apart any way, I figured that I might as well go through the hydraulic pump and the block too.

Blow compressed air into the different holes around the check valves etc, CAREFULLY. They will fly if you use too much pressure. A drag link screwdriver has a large bit and you strike it with a hammer to turn it. I did not need anything but common hand tools when I rebuilt the one on my Super A, which should be the same.
