Forget the kits and get you a new carb from this site. You will save time and money in the end.

Oh, HELL NO! I have rebuilt carbs on everything from, cars & trucks, all of my tractors, boats, generators, ATV's, motorcycles, lawn mowers etc...That's half the fun. And, this is the carb the came on this tractor in 1948; Heck I would have the original air in the tires if I could!

This is good advice. My carter carb wasn"t atomizing the fuel and the only rebuild kit I could find didn"t have much in it as far as useful parts. I got a used Zenith for cheap and was going to rebuild it then I looked on this site and found a new zenith for $140 something and just ordered that - figured I can use the other one for parts eventually if need be. Should be in soon I hope. I also hope all of the linkage lines up...

I also have a 48 SA and the research I did on my carb had it listed as a carb for a Super C. I don"t really think it mattered but when dealing with 60 year old stuff who knows what you will find out.

Good Luck with the project.

Lance,
If you want just a kit, you can get them at NAPA, I sell A&I parts, rebuilt my M with one of their kit, thought, I can get 'em cheap, BIG mistake. The needle started leaking within a month, gasket between carb parts were junk, bought a CIH kit, bout $80.00, but that was 2 years ago, still working good. so as CNKS and Hugh said, get it from CIH, yes it is expensive, but worth every penny!!!

The A&I kits are that way. I never had much luck with them either. The Tisco kits are as good as, if not better than, any thing out there.

Lance: I just bought a needle valve and seat for my 130 from CaseIH. A steel tipped needle valve, been a long time since we've seen those. You be the judge, those damn plastic tipped needle valves have been a thorn in our sides for 30 years.

Hello Hugh!
Do you have a Zentih on your 130? If you do what is the part number for the needle and seat. I was going to try and run some of that E85 mixed with regular gas and I am worried that it will tear up the rubber tip (or plastic)that I have now.
Thanks
Shaggy

Shaggy: The part number is CAS A182056, and yes it is Zenith carb, however the day I ordered it we couldn't get the number off the carb. Wouldn't you know it, IH used two different Zenith carbs during 130 production. He ordered two needle valves, they were damn close, we were a few min deciding which one I should take home. It works well, guess I got the right one. If it's any help my 130 is amoung the last 900 130s built.

What carb do you have? If you have a carter good luck in getting a good complete kit! If its a Marvel or Zenith you can get kits from a local parts store or maybe from this site also.
