I have a problem that I hope some of you guys can help me with. I have a Model 60 blade mounted to the front of a Super A. I had thought about taking it off and mounting it under the belly of a straight A. How hard do you think this would be? I haven"t seen any pictures on the site of a belly mount blade on a straight A. Do any of you guys have a straight A with a blade? I was hoping I could get some pics (or opinions) of mounting one of these without the use of hydraulics.

The blades originally came with a substitute drawbar that mounts on the front of the final drive housings. This provides an attachment point for belly mounting the blade. The substitute drawbar was drilled for mounting on either the A or Super A. Look in the parts catalog to get a general idea what it looks like (part 650308R3). You should be able to make something similar with some flat stock and a welder. There was an optional hand lift unit for use with the A. Assuming you don't have that, you will have to come up with something to lift it.

I wouldent want a belly mount blade because ---
in a deep snow you may not be able to guid the tractor with front wheels in deep snow plus the snow being pushed into the front wheels from behind..... .bad idea.....

This is my 42 A with belly mount blade. It's the day I bought it and the guy put it on backwards but I thought it might give you some ideas. Also note the early aftermarket hydraulics.
