I got motor unstuck this fall and got the tractor running and due to waiting on parts i did not get to work on the tractor for about 4 weeks and now when i try to start the tractor it will start and run for a couple of seconds then die i took the carb off cleaned it again i got good fuel flow and spark and the motor has good compression i was wondering what i need to do to the tractor to get it running again

I have to ask the stupid question, because I have done it. Did you make sure that there is enough gas in the tank? I cussed and screamed and beat my head against the wall trying to get my H to run, and couldn't get it to run for more than a few seconds at a time and then I checked..... .you guessed it! No FREAKIN gas in it. LOL

make sure there isnt any dirt in the sediment bowl or make sure the screen into the gas tank is not crudded up.

third party image

Open that main jet needle valve at the bottom of the carburetor similar to one on this B&S carb. Hal

Will it spark just after it quits? Take an old spark plug wire and cut a notch in it completely through the conductor, but not all the way through the insulation. Put this on a plug and situate it so it is open to view at the cut, and so the cut ends are not touching each other (this forces the spark to jump the gap, so you can see it. Start the tractor safely so as to not get run over, and while watching the cut gap. If the spark quits while the engine is coasting down, I'd say igniition problems (condenser maybe)
If the spark continues, it may have a fuel issue.
Sticking needle in the float, pulgged screen at the carb inlet fitting, or screen in the sediment bowl. Sometimes they alsoget bits of dirt in the tank intake tube. Keep us informed, JimN
