I got my engine kit from this site the other day. Seems to be an incredible kit for the money. Some parts even say "Made in the U.S.A."!!

I had my machine shop pull the old sleeves, since they were really stuck & I don/t have a press. When I took the kit to the shop, the mechanic took all the stuff for the head, and then grabbed just the new sleeves to re-install. In doing so, the pistons & sleeves are no longer matched to each other. Is this a problem? So far this guy has impressed me. It's the best shop in town, and he was working on a big Cat diesel when I was there, but they say to match them.

Thanks

Assuming a dry sleeve engine, the differences in size in sets like these are not very great. When installed, the size of the block bore, and its press fit relationship, will squeeze the sleeve more than this variation. The machinest will fit the pistons if needed when installed. If they are fit to the eleeve, it would still need clearance check befor being buttoned up. JimN
