I need to replace a rear rim on my SMTA. The current rim has two small blocks to keep the rim from spinning on the casting. I have located a rim with one big square block for anti-spin purpose. Was this one of the styles that IH used on their tractors? My SM has rims with a long piece of metal for anti-spin purposes.

Retcol: Wheel type changed near the end of M production. Before that all H or M rims were drop center, thus the center casting was smaller, clamps or lugs are different from the newer type. I expect those older rims and lugs were made by IH.

Beginning at SH-SM time all Farmall larger than the Super C were equipped with double bead rims and the center cast changed, bit larger diameter.

I've seen different clamps or lugs for the double bead rim type, and yes the outside supplier was the factor that made them different. Once manufacturers went to double bead rims the rims and lugs became standardized. I've used both Cockshutt and Deere rims on later Farmalls. The different outside suppliers is the reason for some differences, however the lugs for double bead rims will all interchange. You can even use a mix of several different types of lugs I've seen.

The rim you are talking about is for a 400 or 450 tractor with different type wedges than the letter series.
