Black with red overspray. Which is a way of saying that the radiators were black, and were mounted to the chassis sometime before it's final painting. There was no effort to either paint the radiator red or to mask it off, so they typically came off the line as black but with swipes of red.

Should the generator be red or black? My son and I are having a discussion as to how it should be painted.

IT was red. One of the things they did ma specifically mask off before painting were electrical connections, and the ID/builder's plates on starters and generators.
