The brake anchor pin that ataches the band to the final drive case. The brake band "or what was left of It" and the pin were so bad that I
can"t tell if there was a recieving hole for the pin on the inside of the case.I can see it goes in from the outside of the case and through the band itself but it seems that there should be some sort of hole on the other side to receive the anchor pin. Thanks for your replies.

There should be holes to anchor both ends of the pin. Clean up everything really good and you should be able to see where the hole is. Maybe the pin sheared off and part of it is still in the hole.
