Is a 274 IH big enough to run a 7 ft IH 990 haybine and a jd 24T sq. baler. About how many hp are these tractors. Thanks

274 is not what it's cracked up to be. IH called it 27 hp, and I expect that is flywheel hp. got a little 99 cubic inch 3 cylinder engine, cranked up to, I don't know, gotta be over 2,000 rpm. No it won't run the mower conditioner or the baler, they didn't stand up very well on 1 row cultivator.

Two of my friends bought 274s new, for use on their commercial vegetable farms. Today they are using SA and a 130.

Tractordata lists a 274 with 12.4 x 24" tires and weights over 3000lbs. Still would be too light to do the job. A 284 had 11.2 x 24" tires. The picture shows the smaller turf tires and it is listed at 2000lbs.

Nope,

Doubt if it could pull either across the yard. Hitch pin won't even fit in the tiny drawbar.

The 274/284 models are little lawn/garden tractors.

Allan, just parking next to the big one isn't going to help the little one grow. Take a lot of rain and who knows what kind of fertilizer.
