Hello Gents!

I had posted a few weeks back about the two new H's that I was going to buy, and how I was worried that now I couldnt stop with the Farmalls.

Well, they showed up on the trailer yesterday, and Im pretty thrilled I have to say.
One of them is a 1945, mag ignition, war shift knob, with radiator shutters. The other is a 1952 with the radiator shutters, combo tail light, and a distributor ignition that Im pretty sure still has the original coil and spark plug wires. Both have rear weights, and one came with the front weights. Both still have the cloth wrapped wiring harnesses for everything. They seem like two real nice original beauties! Still 6 volt, and one is positive ground.
The mag ignition one fires right up and purrs like a kitten. The other one starts OK, but is idling very rough, some white smoke. I have to tinker a little bit to figure out why, but I think I can get it cleared up.

Ill post some pics once I can get back to a high speed internet connection! Dialup is just too slow....

If anyone wants some pictures of anything for a restoration, Im pretty sure these are original in just about every respect, Ill be happy to snap some today.
I wonder if the folks buying these new felt the same way watching them show up! Im the third owner of both of these, and this is the first time they have been off their farm.

Hello Fellows! (And Gals, for that matter)

Thanks for all the well wishes! It was quite a thrill to unload those babies off of the trailer for sure! Im still amazed at how well they run after all these years, with the original parts still on them. They really dont make them like they used to.
Im in the middle of uploading the pictures right now, and hopefully the link works. Give this a shot, and if you cant see anything, try it again in a little bit!

If this doesnt work, I can always try a different way of posting them... I just thought it was easier than putting them in the gallery.
And thanks for the idea of shrinking them ElToro, but I was at my folks house on their computer, and they dont really have the horsepower there to manipulate the photos like that. (Im working on building them a new computer this year)

Combining this with my M, I have lots of projects! The first I guess is putting up a barn to keep all of these ladies in!

Congratulations on the new H's! They are great tractors and they are my favorite Farmall tractor. I own a 1943 H that I have had for around 10 years, and my Dad just bought a 1946 H that he will fix up. Can't wait to see those pictures, I have dial up too and it is a real pain ;)

Andy.

You can use dial-up by making your pictures smaller. That's what I have and don't have any problems when posting pictures. I email the pictures to myself if they're too large 480X 640 pixels is a good size. Enjoy those tractors. Hal

Can't wait to see the pics. Sounds like you got hold of a couple of good ones. They must have been stored inside for their whole lives.Jim

White smoke sounds like some water in the fuel syste. Drain a sample out of the carb into a glasspickle jar, a round one. Swirl the jar around until the gas is spinning in there look for a little funnel of water. Or let it sit for a day and look for the water at the bottom.
