Hi, originally B250 Diesel had 2 x 6V batteries in series. Most owners replaced with one large 12V. Yes the B250 was pos ground and negative cable to starter, unless someone changed the generator for a Delco alternator but you say you still have a generator so therefore positive ground to the frame.

If its a 6 volt battery its probably positive grounded. You should be able to tell by your battery cables. Since the pos terminal is larger
see if it is being used as the ground cable.

Those tractors were made when vehicles were changing from 6 to 12 volt systems. Post the number off the generator and look to see if the voltage is on there. Hal

it is 12 volt system, they are hooked up neg to frame,

gen works fine but not charging i was told that's because its supposed to be pos to frame, just wondering if thats correct
