How far north is the normal range for wild hogs? Are they getting farther each year? We never had opposums here until a few years ago. Once they were here we have them every year. Fox trappers are catching them.

There's really not a normal range, since they're a non-native species. They're found up in northern Wisconsin, so I guess they can live just about anywhere.

Don't know how they got here, but a few have been shot in southern IA.

They don't want them to get started here in Iowa cause of diseases that can spread to domestic hogs so there is open season on them.
