I have a 1948 O6. I would like to put the 6V sealed beam light bulbs in the 4 1/2 in tear drop headlight housings. Has anybody done this already ?? Does it take much modification ? Thanks.

I put a set of GE sealed beam lights in the teardrop housings. I had to make a set of rings to mount them. I used wood and a router to make them. Painted them red and installed them. These are the best light ever. It took quite a bit to make the rings, but it was worth it. I had considered having some made of hard plastic in volume. Never did though.

back in the 70"s there was a brand of flashlight that took a 6 volt sealed beam. The flashlight brand was "Big Beam" You still find them around occasionally at flea markets or antique shops. I had gone to NAPA back then when I had a bad lamp. The ran off of the square 6volt lantern batteries. I dont know that the diameter is the same, but it was close.
