Hey guys,

It appears that my engine has started weaping again between then head and the block (made previous posts about this)
I picked up some BAR'S LEAK-STOPPER.
They say to put the can in completely in the radiator. And than let it run for about 15min. But my guess is this is for engines with a coolant pump. My C doesn't have one, so I guess I'll have to approach things differently. Perhaps pour in little by little and extend the 15 minutes to an entire day? Just thinking out loud. Any thaughts on this?

Brand new GM crate replacement engines came with tablets of Leak stop with instructions to use them.
This was one year ago data from a GM Mechanic.

If it leaks to the outside, sealer can help. If it involves compression, forget it.

It is a good product, Subaru uses it (or branded similar) as a practice in some engines. It will still work well, I would run it with cardboard over the radiator so it gets up to toasty temps for an hour. Driving around is also good. JimN

Sealer won't stop a leak at the head/block area. Just too darned much movement between the two when the engine is running.

If you've got a "seeper", the best cure I know is multiple coats of aluminum paint on the head gasket.

Dear Allan, Subaru uses it religeously. ( I have a 2000 Outback with a seep (recalled to put in sealant) It does work and can be fine. I agree it is not as good as the real solution Straight deck/head surfaces and good sprayed (I like coppercoat) gasket, and proper torque. JimN
