This weekend I am going to Elkhart, IN from MN. Will be taking the I-90 route. Last I heard there was a IH or McCormick Deering museum in Chicago. Is this true? Are there any other places someone could recommend going to along the way?

If you go east to Auburn and need parts for anything IH, Bates Corp is by a town called Bourbon. I don't work for them, but I've been there and seen their warehouse. It's quite impressive. Thousands of tractors dismantled down to individual pieces and stocked very neatly on shelves in a building as large as a small factory. If you need something, they probably have it and know EXACTLY where it is. Nice guys to deal with. They also buy salvage if you have something to get rid of.

Stop in So.Bend See the Studabaker museum, see the place where GREAT Football players played like JOE MONTANA and others. Also look at the St Joe river it is one of few that flows North. Go ND!!

If you have time at Elkhart, go East & catch the dutchmen around Shipshewanna. Lots of old horse-drawn equipment at dealers.
