I have a 450lp that i am wantin to convert to gas. Does anyone have or know where I can get a carb, fuel tank, and sheet metal. If able to convert will have nice LP kit i wont mind getting rid of. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, how well do the 3point adapters work on the old 2 point systems.

Don't convert it!

I would love to find an intact 450LP! Not to pull with either, just to have a 450LP.

You should be able to find a gasser and sell the LP tractor. It will take a lot less time to buy a complete gas one than convert. Also the problem of having to run higher octane fuel.

www.Chatstractors.com usually has several 450 gassers.

Like the others, I would recommend buying a gas tractor and leave the LP setup intact on the one you have. People who don't understand the benefits of LP seem to be the ones who want to convert them:

More power due to higher compression
More rare/valuable to collectors
No flooding (fuel enters carb as vapor)
No washing of oil in cylinders
No oil contamination
Indefinite shelf life of fuel
LP is cheaper per gallon than gasoline

My entire collection of (5) tractors of various colors are factory propane. Yes, the tank is less asthetically pleasing, but whatever it's pulling doesn't care.

Unless you have some sort of special liking for this tractor, or plan on making a puller out of it, it's gonna be easier to get a gas 450. By the time you get all the sheetmetal, brackets, fuel tank, fittings, carb, ect. If you just go get a 450 gas and sell the one you have it'll probably be cheaper. The LP head alone is worth 1000-1600, and the LP manifold another 150-400. If you do convert yours and plan on using it around the farm with the LP head on gas plan on buying premium, or possibly racing gas. I have a 450 gas converted to the LP head and it'll ping and diesel on shutdown unless I run 101 octane racing gas at the pull. It also has fire crater pistons. Jake

Where specifically? No. But, you should start looking around for tractor salvage yards in your region. Between 2 or 3 yards, you should be able to locate the parts you need.
