I'm rebuilding a farmall M several people have told me that they put 4.125 pistons in these. I know that was the size that was in my MTA I have the M apart and with sleeve out the block measures 4.125 is there enough material to machine the block to accomodate a larger sleeve.

An M was originally 3.875". You can get a 4.00" sleeve and piston kit. Sure would be easier and less expensive to stop there, unless you can find a SM/400 or even 450 block. mike

Cut away material just to add material? Hone the block and run the pistons that way, others do it. Charles

You have to have a machine shop make you 4 rings for the top of the block to seal the head gasket,
