Howard, my 1943 Farmall H has the carb ice up problem too. Here is what I did, works great and no ice up. You can make one easy. Here is how it works, the heat from the outside of the muffler is being taken into the air cleaner so it is drawing hot air, it works great.

Andy.

Try pouring a can of "HEAT" or some other fuel line deicer in the tank.

It will still ice on the outside but will run alright.

Howard,

I feed cattle every morning with 2 gas tractors and they both do it. Have an old Chevy pickup and it does it too.

This is totally normal. Let it warm up for a few minutes.

All carbureated outfits do it and the only way you can stop the effect is to move to a warmer climate. :>)

To stop carb. icing you either need to put a heat houser(a canvas windbreak) on to keep engine heat next to the carb. or build a shield to take heat from the muffler to the air cleaner to pre-heat the air going to the carb. or do both. Armand
