Okay, I feel kinda bad, 'cause I feel like I misinformed you a bit. The plow I posted about before, WAS crated when I first saw it and my friend bought it from the dealership. He assembled it and stuck it away in his shed. (on a concrete floor thank goodness) I looked at it this morning, and it looks just like it did when I first saw it. The paint and decals are incrediible, and its really something to see plow points and moldboards with ZERO wear on them! I did manage to strike a deal, and the plow is now going to come to MY shed. (most I ever paid for a plow in my life!) I was also wrong on the model... I thought it was a little genius, but found it instead is a #4.....(I'm a wealth of misinformation) ANYWAY, what would the vintage of the # 4 be?
It'll make a nice mate for my H, which is a 1940.

You've got a gem there, Sarge!

When you're ready, we'll getchya through the pic postin' routine.

The value to the rest of us is that the IH Paint Committee records at the Wisconsin Historical Society are many times ambiguous as to where one color stopped and the next one started, and any pics of one right out of the crate could clear up a lot of questions.

Not that I have a plow (or currently any REAL use for one (is that important?? -- I'd still like to have one around), I'll be lookin' forward to the next chapter.

If I ever catch that plow in the dirt, I will personally kick your a$$!! That thing needs to be preserved and never used. That is one of a kind and shouldn't be out of a museum. It's worth is priceless. Kind of like dinosaur bones. Not really worth all that much, but a value cannot be placed on because of the rarity. I would love to see pictures of it. PLEASE share some as soon as you can. By all means, preserve this piece as best you can.

Will you be bringing it to the RPRU in Columbia Missouri this June? That would be a great show piece. If so, be sure to make a sign that states this is a "new" plow not a restored plow and tell the whole story. I have 2 no 4 plows. 1 is unrestored but little of the origional paint is left. Dave

I hope to pick the plow up this afternoon afterI get off duty. (Sunday). I"m goint to get it in my shop and take a bunch of pictures of it and post them, after someone walks me through how to. I've read several instructions on how to post pics, but most of the time the premise is that I have a good working knowledge of URLS and links and stuff like that.... which I dont'.

I highly doubt that you paid too much at most any price. My father always called pull type plows "good property". If you are thinking of using the plow, I'd think long and hard before I did. I'd sure love to see a pic of that plow and I'm sure others would as well.

The #4 was built from 1940-1956 in 10-12-14 bottoms and i would think its worth at least 600 or more since its new you didnt say steel or rubber tires.
