Will a injection pump off a 1086 fit a 986? I know the 986 has a 436 and the 1086 has a 414. I didn't know it the would fit both.
Thanks, Bob

I will tell you what have done , is that i put a fuel pump off an 915 IHC SP combine and i dont see any difference in fuel consumption from my other two 986's and the 915 is a turbo engine. i never had nothing adjusted just leave it alone if its workin, the 915 engine fuel pump has a electric fuel shut off which i think is a plus.

Your 986 should have a 436 non Turbo and 1086 has a 414 Turbo . The pumps are interchangeable however the 986 pump if stock should have a 9mm plunger in the hyd. head of the pumpand the 1086 should have a 10mm . All this mean is the 1086 pump will probably put out more fuel. You can back the fuel down on a 10mm pump to be very close to a 9mm. I would put the 1086 pump on and try it just how it is.You can change the fuel setting with the pump on the engine.

I could be wrong, but I think both the 986, and the 1086 have the 414, but the 1086 is turbo charged. I know that is the case with the 966, and 1066. That being said I think the injector pump would be interchangable. Jon

No joe is right IH, the 986 did have 436 non turboed.

And you are right the 966 did have the 414.

1066 and 1086 have the 414 with a turbo.

1486 has the 436 with a turbo.
