The original subject was "Re: 12v sealed beams for 240. The answer is....".

I have a 240 with 6 volt seal beams I plan to convert to 12 volt. Was wondering how you changed your lights? How did you change the bracket for the alternater? I thought the original light switch would still work. Thanks for any help you can give.

TM tractor parts has a kit to change the seal beam housings to use a regular bulb. He sell Cub parts but I believe these would work in the 240 lights as well. The replacement bulbs would be much cheaper and readily available once you convert them. From the outside they look the same. Just do a web search for him.

You are spending money the wrong place as a 240 sure dont need 12v. Just get the bugs out of the system on the tractor now. Everyday someone is all messed up going to 12v when all they had to do was gett the bugs out of what is there now.
