Well, here's the situation... (me needing pistons/sleeves/bushings/gasket set...)

YT, here, sells the comprehensive kit for $301, made by a company called TISCO.

I called A Case/IH dealer named Hoobers, from Intercourse Pa., and the parts-dude gave me a quote, for the comprehensive kit, of exactly $300. But he couldn't tell me who made it!! (What the Hey???)

Bum steer? Should I call other Case/IH dealers?

I have a local "Power Center" who has the whole kit for $443, from a company called TEMCO, but I think they're only a distributor.

So is this Case/IH automatically reliable? Their quote is cheaper than the one from this website, and the cheapest I've heard so far.

Please, anybody's thoughts?

Do a search for Clevite kits. Use this web site to find a dealer. Hal

Our local IH dealer also lists TISCO. I asked for the IH sleeve kits by part number and they had no trouble getting them.

Pete,

Over the past 25 years I have rebuilt and/or repaired a few tractors; Fords (N series, NAA, 600 and up), some JDs, and now IHC (mostly letter series). I have purchased OEM, TISCO, and the junk from China.

I’ve had good luck using TISCO engine kits in several Ford N series and now I’m rebuilding a Super A with a TISCO kit. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with a one of their kits, unless you make a mistake during assembly.

You might want to look up Carter & Gruenewald Company, Inc., world wide web.cngco.com/index1.html. They are an IHC Dealer in Wisconsin that carries OEM parts in stock (for the most part) for these old tractors. The part people are knowledgeable, easy to work with, and can help with your restoration, personal experience.

Have fun with your project!
