Hello All!

So it happened to me again.

It was about a year ago that I had been looking at a Farmall M that was for sale locally to my parents house in Upstate NY, and the day after Christmas it followed me home.
But I felt bad since I live/work near Washington DC, and my tractor was all alone out in the weather up in NY.

I happened on a deal, and managed to pick up two (yes two) Farmall H's! They are on the way soon, so now my M has two more rides to keep it company.

My question for all of you is when will it stop? I dont need two tractors, but I couldnt pass up the deal!

~Bug

So really what you are all telling me is that this is only going to get worse?

And Im pretty sure its contagious, since I could pass it along to other folks I know in my family...
Now I need to come up with some jobs for these old tractors to do! Ill still set my sights on something like a MF 135 and hopefully a 1066 for the big stuff, and then Ill have a real crew going!

Im sure in the next few months you will see plenty of new H related questions coming from me...

clarkbug, it 'll never stop. i think the old tractors get a scent on em, and once you get it on ya, it keeps attracting old iron. so far, i have a cub, b, h, 3 m's, super m, w-9, and a 240u. got my eye on an f-30 thats sitting all alone in a fenceline. still need to get an a, c, w-4 and w-6. course, then i'll have to start working on the supers, then the diesel versions..... ....a smta would be nice too, maybe some high crops too!!!!! the wife wont see this will she!!!!

Maybe we could get a guvmet grant to do some research on this ailment. Maybe the Center for Disease control would want to step in. I mean this affects a lot of people and there is no know cure. Think of all the dollars spent buying all these tractors!!!

Clarkbug----- -- I keep asking myself the same question. I bought my first M about 30 years ago and it hasn't quit yet. I bought the first one and used it for raising sweet. A guy came over and ask me if I wanted to buy another, so I did. I got it running and sold it. I have had pretty much one of every make and model made at some time. Stuck or running it doesn't matter, if the price is right I buy them. Now I have expanded to Texas. I have 38 here in Pa. and about 29 in Texas. It is like an additiction.

I started with the M. My plan was to save up and get tires for it. Then I saw a deal on some JD #5 mowers... So I bought them both, one was for parts. Then I found these H's, so Im getting those. Now that other mower I should probably fix up instead and put it on the H....

Then Ill probably look for a trailer or a dump wagon...
I guess next I need to buy a barn to keep them all in!

I started out with a bushhog. One tractor. Then got a scrape blade. Two tractors. I'm going to buy a dirt scoop and already looking for the third tractor. David.

Every person (I mean all of them) needs at least 20% more stuff than they can use so if some of it stops being usable, the excess is available. Handy as all get out. (this also includes the need for 20% more than you have when you have the 20%) JimN

I don't feel qualified to answer this difficult question. If your married you may not have to ask anyone, you will be told.

I know just how you feel...I bought 2 old H's last year for 500$, and got a Super M for free.

Granted it has some problems (like the engine is stuck and the trans won't shift), but I just couldn't pass up the Super M.

It IS a disease, isn't it?

It's bad when you need a dedicated tractor to harrow, one to mow and another for spraying. There must be another job I can find to ride on.....
