Looks great, my 340 is about 6 months behind. What brand and paint number did you use? Any hardener??

i used martin senouir paint from napa with reducer and hardner also added uv protector. this paint is available from napa auto stores, its not cheap but it will hold up for years to come, also i used a epoy based primer with hardner, have to use extreme caution while using this product, no open flames , heater or spark sources. as far as paint codes, This brand paint has a data base world wide and can match your color you need by tractor model and year.

Yah that is a nice looking job, soon it'll look good as new. Our old 340 will eventully get put back to her old work clothes. Used to be a state of Minn. tractor than was a county tractor down in the Southeast corner of the state when she was finally painted red+white, although you can see tons of the yellow and orange under it now.

Looks really good . . . you're doing a great job! What paint are you using? My '58 340U's been "almost back together" for a couple years now. Would like to see more before/after photos of yours . . . maybe they will motivate me to get going. Did you have any hydraulics issues on yours? I had to rebuild mine. I'm adding an IH 1701 loader, and hope that 9 gpm camshaft driven pump will be enough.

on my 340 the only hydraulic problem is that the rear tubes that run to the back block the one was leaking , so i brazed it , and will see if it holds. i have power steering, and should have gone through it with new seals and such, it seem to work ok , i hope i wont regret that, now that everything is painted. i have transmission driven pump . i think its 11 gal pm. i love tractors!

So you didn't repaint it orange. It had that set of cloths all it's life. Now it's lost all it's history, and value...

Yabbut, those 50's era Minn DOT decals are the very devil to come by. She'd be nekkid without 'em.

Nice 340, but, it cannot be a 1953. The 340 was not introduced until 1959.

Nice 340, my dads 340 U is still in the shop. It's a diesel in need of injectors. What size tires are on the front?
