I need to rework the disc brakes on my '53 Super M. Any particular words of wisdom?
Thanks!
John

If your disc's are bad I recommend you take them to a good brake shop and have them relinned, All disc's you buy today are aftermarket including those from CIH,The materials in them are so hard they will glaze up and be worthless,

I used a real rough round wood rasp on the new discs. Made a world of difference. Of course then I drove about two rounds cutting hay with the parking brake on a little. The smell of something hot led me to a smoking housing. Oh well, rough em up again and start over.

Make sure you replace the little rubber "boot" that the adjustment bolt comes out off, that is if you don't have it to begin with. It's a pretty easy job, make sure everything in nice and clean. -David Goode Coggon, IA

Pretty straightforward job.

But don't be bashful about new balls and springs. They'll make a world of difference. And don't forget to polish up the rmps for the balls.
