Hi, for a couple of years now we have been using soydiesel in the newer equiptment,5% up to 11%blend, has anyone used it in the older diesels, I have a wd9 that I am wondering about using it in but don't want to damage the injection pump, thanks Joe

Biodiesel eats some rubber. I have heard you have to use synthetic fuel lines. For some reoson it eats through the rubber. They converted my local school districts busses and Garbage trucks to it a few years ago. Works great as far as I have seen.

We have used soydiesel in older grain trucks with older motors. we have had leaks in pumps at throttle shafts. Our diesel guy put newer style o-rings in and solved the problems. Give Advanced Diesel Inc in Harristown, Il. a call at 217 963 2097. Jeff can tell you if you would have any problems or what to watch for. AJB

The soy diesel gives better injector pump lubrication than todays petro diesel. It fires off more smoothly, less diesel "rattle". We have been using 100% soy in our equipment in the summer months, and blend down to about 10% in the winter. Our oldest diesel tractor is a 1968 Ford 8000 and it runs fine with soy.

The only problem that I have had is the failure of an old rubber section of fuel line. It was soft to begin with, but got real soft with the soy.

We run 6 diesel tractors and 2 Ford Powerstroke pick-ups on the soy, and have used it for 3 years.

I would say if it doesn't hurt your newer pumps, it's not gonna hurt the old ones either.

I've been running it in every deisel I own for 4 years now. No problems at all with any pumps or filters.

Gary
