Where can I find the lock washers that bend over the bolts for the for the Rod cap bolts on a farmall M. I'd hate to have to go to an IH dealer if i can get them somewhere cheaper Thanks

Or go with external tooth washers, or split lock washers.

Just torque them down an enjoy the rebuild. I dont think there has ever been a rod bolt that came loose that was torqued. None of the newer motors use any kind of locks. Some bolts may stretch or break but a lock is not going to prevent that anyway. Dont fret about it just enjoy.

Bought some for a C-175 from IH and they are rather expensive for what they are.

You could probably make some out of soft stock. Drill the holes first then saw it into short bits. You will only have to round the backside.

If the rod bolts have holes I would use twisted safety wire. The military has used this for years. Hal

I would call the machine shop to see if they have the old locks. Hal

Why don't you use lock nuts? They were used on some of their tractors. Hal

They are bolts not nuts
