Hi

I picked up this snowplow this weekend that fits a Super C. Does anyone know what make/model it is? It doesn't look anything like the snowplows that are normally found on farmall a's and c's. Any help is appreciated!

I'm really glad you brought this up, because I've had two Super C's with exactly the same snow plow setup. I havn't found any marks on either of mine either, not sure if IH built it, but I know it's a factory setup. Rob

Mark: Definitely not IH. I suspect it was a factory blade for some make of crawler and modified to fit your Super C. Don't knock it for that reason, IH blades were not much to write home about, definately wouldn't cause your grandmother a trip to the mail box on a day she had no other mail.

I had 2 IH blades, one my dad bought with an H and the other came with a Super A I bought. Today I use a blade I fabricated from the ground up, even rolled the steel for the blade.

All you can do is try it, it could be a great blade.

I'm very happy with it. I think I got a good buy and its built like a tank. I had noticed many plows are mounted to just the front, and I like that this one goes back to the axle. I think it could easily be adapted to have a small bucket on it instead of the blade.

If its home-built, then the person who did it was very good. The welds are beautiful and the joints are reinforced. A lot of thought went into the design.

Interesting Tractor friends!I live is eastern Canada and I also have a Super C. The person I bought it from had built his own snow plough with the arms going back to the axles.I was told by a tractor mechanic that if you attached the snow blade just to the front of the Super C you may break the tractor housing just behind the transmission where it is very small diameter.

That doesn"t look like an IH or any type of aftermarket IH blade I"v seen before, it also doesn"t look like my henderson model loader... it looks to be just homemade setup

btw, i looked at the title on your pic, they only made SC"s until 54" not 56, it would have been a 230 I think

The gentleman I bought it from said it was a 56. Can't verify that, and he probably got it wrong then, but it was a Super C. It was in the driveway when I picked up the snowplow.

Its certainly possible its homemade. You have to get off the tractor to angle the blade. You have to pull pins on either side, angle the blade, and then put the pins back into new holes. It also has bars that go back to the axle so the pressure is on the axle instead of the front end.

It has no hydraulics. It uses the super C cultivator arm lift to lift the snowplow up and down.

Here is a photo of the blade I have on mine. I belive it to be factory. I have seen other set ups on Super Cs and Hs and as long as it does what you want it to I'm sure you will be pleased with it.

Kinda looks like a Henderson loader attachment with Midget snow plow blade. I have some sales brochures that show these for a Super C. Maybe? Migraine
