How is the hydraulic system to be drained on a 300u? I have been sucking mine out the top of the reservoir, is there a better or correct way of doing this?
Thank you for reading and any help.
Jim

the drain plug is on the left side of the resevoir near the bottom. the filter is really a fine mesh strainer . cost a little over $100. i just replaced mine a coule of months ago

I should of added to the above post that I did find a small plug beside and slightly lower than the lines that run to/from the pump. It is too high to drain to the bottom of the reservoir and a mess to try to catch the fluid from.

Jimer, I think that is it. The resivoir is the top of the seat added to the top of the trans. Make a small modeling clay lip that sticks to the casting under the hole, and sticks out to catch stuff in a pan/funnel. While this is in use, sticl a vinyl hose in the plug hole to finish draining into a container. (best I have).
when empty, put a close nipple and elbow in the hole with the original plug to allow a better system in the future. JimN
