Switching my cub over to 6 volt distrib. Its now a mag. The voltage regulator on the generator only has 2 terminals on the side where you normally have the 3 terminals. Their is no middle one. Question is when I chance over to the distributor do I need a different voltage regulator and if so which one? The wiring on this cub had been taken off prior to my starting to work on it. Any help in figuring out the wiring of this beast would be a help. Thanks

Glennster is correct, the light switch in conjunction with the operator is the "voltasge regulator" If the charging system is working, and you are regulating the charge with H and L on the switch, there is no problem. If you want to make it more regulated and automatic, or it is not charging, there are many well worded contributions from John T, Bob M, auself, and others that address the why. Use the search for box to find them. Put in cutout relay. Or put in Converting to Voltage regulator, or LHDB light switch. These searches will do it. JimN

sounds like you have a cut out relay on there, not a v-reg. does the light switch have l-h d-b, low - hi, dim and brite for the lights? if so there is a resistor on the lamp switch for low charge.
