I ran my old C up the road yesterday just to heat her up since it was so cold here and when I returned I noticed that oil was running out of holes in the bottom of the brake covers on both sides. It sounds like the rear end is too full of oil but I used the check valve when filling it several months ago. Any guesses? She has been sitting outside in a couple of monsoons so do you suppose some water has run down in there? The oil does look a bit milky.

Water will raise up the oil level for sure. My Steamboat has what is called a displacement oiler and uses condensed water to raise the level of oil so it can run out and lube the inside the steam cylinder. Your tractor rear end is the same. water raised up the level and it is leaking out at a point higher than it should. Let it sit for a few days and drain out what is in the bottom. Don"t forget the front plug if Cs are like Hs and have 2 drains.

Johnny, If oil is coming out of brake housing it meens the shaft seals are leaking. If it looks milky it is posaible they is water in it. From where? Check level if it is over full and you didn"t do it mabe from rain? Good luck oldiron29

Check your gear oil level, bet you're over full.
