After sitting in the shop area for a while, Son and I started stripping down the old Regular we had discovered in a warehouse he bought. It had been neglected and abused but so far nothing that couldn't be remade, fixed or replaced off of E-bay until we pulled the belt off. It is a flat leather belt, folded and stitched along the inside diameter. Got it off in one piece, but I wouldn't trust it to be useable.

Anyone have thoughts on how to replace it or possibly what to replace it with? It will be a while before we need it but this is something I've no idea where yoto start looking.

Skaning, If you are planning on restoring a Farmall Regular you will want to keep Rice Equipment phone # handy 814-226-9200
Gordon Rice is very helpful and has most of the seals, gaskets, packings ect. and more. Ask him for a parts list for the Regular when he send you the belt and you will have a list of all kind of thinks. I just did 1927 last year I found behind a gas station. Now it up and running new paint and dry shed to stay in. Good luck oldiron29

The originals were a black cloth covered deal that had 4 or 5 strands of heavy cord inside. Those are few and far between and may not last long even if NOS. They didn't use leather, but leather will work ok. I got a new one from Rice Equipment that is an endless belt which is what you want.

Thanks Dave.

Thats a site I probably would never have found without it being pointed out. He seems to have a good deal of things that I anticipate we may need and some I thought we'd have to fab from scratch. This old gal had been sitting up since the mid 50's from what we were told. "It was running when we parked it". How and when it got under cover is unknown and wierd stuff is bent or missing. Still, most everything seems to be there in one form or another. It should be an adventure.
