I used a hex head bolt to help stop the points from slipping on one of my 140 tractors. It helped but they still worked loose and had to be reset. Electronic ignition was the FINAL solution. I just removed the points etc from our cub and installed electronic ignition last week. This is the 3rd tractor I've installed EI on and I recommend it. Be warned the correct police won't approve.
