How much alfalfa can be grown on irrigated land per acre? It seems that during the late spring into late fall they are baling about once a month.

Alfalfa under irrigation should yield 5 to 6 T/A/year. If they are cutting every month, the quality would be better, but yields at each cutting is not very high.

In New Mexico similar conditions we used to figure 3 or 4 tons per acre per year. It depended on how much water the "Irrigation Police" used to send down our ditches. That was in the South Rio Grande valley S of Albuquerque.
Moved from the land of blistering heat about 20 yrs ago.
