H governor spring

I need to get a new governor spring.It list 2 different part numbers in the manual 49 407 dbx at $37.00 and 357 012 r1 at $10.00 does anybody know if there is a difference between the 2 other than the price.

To answer your question, yes, there is a difference. One spring has a hook at both ends. The other spring has a hook on just one end. The other end threaded over a machined boss with a pivot pin. I don't know what the part numbers are for either.

Go to your local hardware store & you can get a pack that has 2 springs in it for about $4 they are 3/4 in. diameter & 1 1/4in. in length.They have a hook on each end & you don't have to use the connector that screws into the end of the old spring. Tim
