Switching my cub from a Mag to a distributor . Mag was gutted on it when I got it and I happened to have a distributor set up. When I pulled the mag and went to place the Distributor on their is not enough room for the coil that is mounted on top of it to fit. It hits the generator. Anyone run into this problem and if so what is a good fix for this. Thanks

Gene's answer below is the best. Because it is not going to be stock anyway, I would put it close but not in the way. Fabricating a good looking bracket that will move it is great. JimN

There is a flat metal bracket that offsets the coil to the right to get it out from under the generator. Don't know if it is available from CIH but it can be made easily. HTH

Something doesn't sound quite right here. The generator is supposed to be up tucked under the hood on top of the engine. I've got two Cubs; the only part of the generator you can see below the hood is the regulator, and that's well above the coil.

For the coil to interfere with the generator in its correct position, it would either have to be an oversized aftermarket coil, or sitting on end. The coil should be laying down horizontal, parallel to the distributor.
