I want to install a Belt Pulley on my 1948 MV. Will any year unit from a H or M work? From what I can tell the operating rod for 48 comes through on the right side of the steering post. I believe I once saw a SMTA with the rod on the left side so I'm wondering if only certain years will work for my tractor. Is the operating rod the same for the H and M ? Thanks

Any belt pulley from M thru 660 will work. If the operating lever sticks out the wrong way, cut the welds and rotate it 180 degrees. H belt pulley won't work. It is much smaller.

Hey Bud,
H definitely will NOT work. As far as I know any from an M will work. Operating rod is on right side and is held by a bracket that bolts to the rear fuel tank support. Dunno about rod on a SM but SMTA is on left side along with choke and starter pull rod. HTH
