well I wrote earlier about pulling with a B. The fella sent me some pictures of a B and It looks like an older restoration and runs and drives great he said. Its got good tires all around and he wants $1200, is that ball park for a 1940?

Thanks DEREK

At most, I would send a deposit, not the whole amount.

Well I told the guy I'll take it, just looking at pictures, I don't like doing that, but it looks straight and he lives 80 miles from here so I told him I'll send him a check in the mail and be there as soon as I can, Were still cleaning up after that large Ice storm we had on Dec. 11th

If you saw the picture I put on your last post, I paid $1000 for that tractor and rented a trailer and hauled it behind my new (at the time) F150. Picture was still in my clipboard so here she is again. One thing I will never do is buy a tractor from a photo. The one you see here, for example does not tell you that it has a front wheel bearing that is destroyed AND took the hub with it. The Monroe seat looks nice but it has seen better days. The wiring is not original but at least 20 years old, cracked, and soon to overheat to dangerous levels. Alternator is hooked up wrong and not charging. Engine is out of time. Etc. I could also show you a picture of a crawler I have that seized up taking it off the trailer. Obviously something up there and IT did not show up in the pic either. If you really want that B, 80 miles is an hour drive. Deliver the check, bring home the crank, manuals, etc. and THEN go back when you have more time. But I agree you should buy it. I hope you do and get right to work on it. I would like to read your posts while I am stuck in this office all winter!

Cheapest running Farmall B I've found in the last couple years has been around $1750 and as high as $2750 still needing some work to be restored.

Better get that one before it gets away!

Yep, in the ballpark. Maybe even on the low side for the condition it's in.
