F-20 gas tank srap material

Anyone know what the material is between the tank and hold down strap and where it's available? Thanks

I use the red webing from a cheap ratchet tie down. Same color as the tractor too !

If you can find the wick material for the old coal oil lanterns, I believe it is about the same thing.

we used an old cow collar one time on a machine that had to get back in the field. it's too thick to fit proper though

It is a cotton webbing. Some old cars use something simillar on the old 20s style folding hoods but is saturated with a kind of wax. Not sure if IH ever used the waxed stuff, but they were put on and then painted over when it was all assembled. As said below, rice has the closest stuff you will be able to find. Be sure to pad the bottom of the tank also.
