I've got very early A--one of the first 1500 made, a Heinz 57 1940 A, and a B to restore. I'm thinking of restoring all three at once. I'm about to crank a 100 I just finished (I took apart just about every nut and bolt). Am I nuts? Does anyone else do more than one at a time? The 100 took almost over two years as an occasional weekend project but a lot of time was wasted waiting on one thing or the other (have to do A before I can do B). I have to check myself because I work in an environment that squeezes every minute out of every day (corporate, you know). If I need to chill out, I won't be offended. Also, I just built a shop that will accomodate all three.

I would do one at a time to avoid confusion. If you have to wait on parts or something, there is always something else that you could work on while waiting. If you get to the point that there is nothing to do on that first tractor, then you can start cleaning or dismantling the next one in line while waiting.

rnicholas: There are three trains of thought on this issue, do as you have done. Then you could have built the shop large enough for A, B, BN, SA, SA1, 100, 130 and 140. Probably 2 - 140s as you need both type grills. Then you must figure on at least one high clear. Well, I mean, I just need to complicate things.

Second thoughts, maybe you should stick with your option, go one step at a time. Heaven help us if you turned out a B with a 140 grill, or tried to bolt a touch control unit to an A torque tube. LOL Best use your own judgement, in years gone by, I've had my Super A and 130 apart in same shop at the same time. I notice now, I have 130 tyrods on my SA and vice versa. I could change them, however the tyrod removal fork would destroy the new rubber dirt shields I put on back then.

Sounds ABNormal to me (oh yeah not normal, that is too old) Good luck, keep the parts separate so as to provide a sense of sameness, or identity, to each. JimN

Sounds good have fun. You will end up with an AB100 and tons of extra parts.
