Farmall M with a miss

Hi, I have an early farmall m with a mag that runs great while the engine is cold. However as the tractor warms up it developes a slight miss that only seems to gets worse as the engine gets hotter. There seems to be no power loss because of the miss and the engine still runs smooth under load. The engine just dosen't per like when it is first started and the miss occurs at different internvals. I have had the mag worked on, and put new points and plug wires on it recently. I believe the fuel system is working correctly and the tractor uses no oil. Could there be a problem with the valves as the head get hot, i have never had the head off.

I WOULD RECCOMEND RUNNING A COMPRESSION CHECK
ONLY TAKES A FEW MINUTES AND WILL TELL YOU IF YOU HAVE MECHANICAL PROBLEM, ALSO YOU CAN CHECK VACUUM WITH A GAUGE SHOULD HOLD STEADY IF IT BOUNCES AROUND INDICATESVALVE TROUBLE OR BROKEN SPRING ALSO AS THE OTHERS SAID CHECK VALVE ADJUSTMENT

We had an 'H' with a similar problem. Ran perfect upon start up, then as it warmed, it would start to miss on one cylindeer. #3. Found out that it was leaking air through the manifold gasket. Replaced the gasket--hasn't missed once in five years.

I'd take a look for a leak in your manifold.

Not sure I ever heard a Farmall engine that did not make a "miss" type of noise here and there. I had a pretty frequent one on the B which went away completely when the valves were adjusted. I would start there. Frankly, this post was disappointing. I thought it was going to be a picture of a girl on a tractor.

Set them at .017 hot, or .020 cold.
