Definately a 510. Bought my 16 run new in 1972. Traded in Massey-Harris and paid $1200 difference. Still using it.

Allan, that pic is a lot bigger than the other one I saw of it. Looks great now. I think that is No 10 or maybe 510 drill, but not real sure. Don't see how he is lifting it either, but that should be a hydraulic model. Lots of these old beast still working around the country. Not really all that outdated for their size either if you ask me. I do most of my little jag of farming with them. My drill is a tad older than that on. It is a MF model with original paint still on it.

George: It's not a No.10, I had a 24x6, No.10. 10 had split covers at middle and were painted red.

I expect this is a 510.

Hugh, I kinda thought it probably was the 510, but since both are to new for me, I didn't know for sure.

George: I was wrong on the split covers, they were full length, however they were painted red. The No.10 didn't have quite as much steel webbing at box ends. It used much smaller wheels. Allan's photo is definitely 510.

Wow,Good picture!! Change the hat to a baseball type, and put green overhauls on him I would swear that was Grandpa "gettin to it" back in the early 60s. If I ever get a scanner to post it, I have a great pic of Grandpa taking a break from cultivating with the M and talking to another farmer cousin/Nieghbor about 1960. His 50 Chevy truck is in the pic also.

On a nice Sunday this past October, I was driving the 11 miles home from church and saw 3 straight H tractors doing farm work.

The first was drilling wheat pulling a McCormick drill at least as old as the H. The second was pulling a New Idea ground-drive manure spreader, and the third was in a feed lot with a trip-bucket loader on it waiting for the manure spreader to come back empty.

I got to thinking--- not bad for tractors that are at the least 55 years old, and could be as much as 68 years old...

I'm not sure what model that drill is, but our neighbor has an IH 620 that looks similar with a trip type lift.

Nice to see old tractors still earning their keep, like most of mine do...
