My Farmall M"s Hand crank shaft has been broke off and rewelded. It probobly doesn"t need to be replaced but I am restoring it and would like to do it before I paint. How do Iget it out? I have looked at it and I haven"t figured it out. How do I get it out and back in?

There is a collar on the rear piece behind the spring. Under the collar is a pin the holds the two pieces together. Then the shaft will slide ahead enough to let the ratchet out. Then I don't know or remember if there is enough room for the shaft to go out the back. I've never taken one apart with the bolster still on the tractor.

You will have to completely remove the front end from the tractor in order to get that assembly out.
